History
The history of soulful cooking has long been in Veda's blood line. Veda's grandmother, Mrs. Bee cooked for celebrities and was a well known caterer in Los Angeles, California. Veda developed her expert skills in culinary school but her love of cooking came from home where recipes were passed down from one generation to the next.
Veda is the mother of two beautiful daughters and 6 grandchildren. The family tradition of cooking excellence continues. Veda's youngest daughter, Marcy, is a Culinary Instructor and her oldest daughter, Precious, is also very active in the family catering business. The family legacy of superb recipes, great meals and excellent service still goes on. As Veda says, "always remember, seasoning is not just in the food, it's also in the service".
Ministry
Like her grandmother, Veda has cooked for many celebrity clients but her real passion is cooking for her church and helping other churches grow their ministries through food. Known as "Mrs. V" around town, you will regularly find her providing comfort food for repasts food receptions and other church special events.
Community Service
Veda's passion for food and her love for people extends beyond the walls of the church. She is also very community minded. She works with organizations inside and outside of the church. Her community service includes working with non-profits such as Martha's Table, Warm Nights Homeless Shelter, Habitat for Humanity and her Church's Missionary Society.
In addition to community service, Veda is a mentor to many, including Prince Georges County Public School elementary students, Prince Georges Community College culinary students and women who are trying to escape human trafficking and rebuild their lives. Veda's goal is not only to feed peoples stomachs, but also to nourish their body, mind, soul and spirit.
